Moringa

In short, moringa is a pretty amazing tree. Pictured are some of the moringa pods collected at the volunteer house in Ouaga during our Food Security Committee meeting this weekend. Moringa trees have highly nutritious leaves (along with other properties like water purifying seeds) and grow well in most environments including the sahel. Many volunteers incorporate moringa into their agriculture, nutrition, and income generating projects. Supposedly you can sell moringa powder in the US for quite a bit of money, so maybe we'll start a moringa farm when we get back.
